About Dr Carol Guinan

Dr Carol Guinan (CPsychol)

I graduated from NUI, Galway, with a BA (Hons) in Psychology in 2003, and was awarded an MSc Forensic Psychology with Distinction from University of Kent at Canterbury in 2007.

I then completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Queen’s University Belfast in 2013, which included training in NICE approved therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

I later undertook a 3 year specialist training in Group Analytic Psychotherapy, and achieved a Diploma in Group Work Practice in 2021, awarded by the . Building on this, I am now training to become a Group Analyst with the Irish Group Analytic Society

In 2024 I became an accredited Balint Group Leader with the UK Balint Society.

 

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION AND MEMBERSHIPS

I hold professional Chartership with the British Psychological Society, and am bound by the professional code of ethical conduct. I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council. This is the regulatory body for Psychologists in the UK. I am an accredited member of the Balint Society.

I am a student member with the Irish Group Analytic Society.
